Dr. RaeAnn Nordwall was born and raised in Duluth, where she attended Hermantown Schools. Dr. Nordwall received a Bachelor of Science degree from The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, studying Biochemistry. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. While in Chicago she worked closely with the Pediatric Outreach Program, providing eyecare to underserved children from infant to preschool ages. After graduating, Dr. Nordwall continued her education by completing a residency at the Michigan College of Optometry in Big Rapids, MI. She specialized in Pediatrics and Vision Therapy while precepting and lecturing third- and fourth-year optometry students.
During her residency, Dr. Nordwall was a study coordinator for the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), a National Institutes of Health-funded research team that studies eye disorders that affect children. Following residency, she furthered her studies by becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and holds memberships in the American Optometric Association, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, and the Optometric Extension Program.
In her free time, Dr. Nordwall enjoys running and spending time with her family. She is thrilled to be back in the Northland and bringing much-needed resources to the community.
